Rebecca & Patch

Wednesday 5th March 2008:
I went home with Rebecca. She did her homework and got ready for the Brownies. The Brownies were exciting as they were with the Guides and they had a guide dog called Austin visiting them.
Thursday 6th March 2008:
Rebecca had dancing to music after school which is great fun. Then we had to go home and do Rebecca’s homework. We then played with the Wii which I enjoyed.
Friday 7th March 2008:
Rebecca went to school and I got to play in the playroom when she was away. She went to tennis after school with Charlotte which she told me all about when she came home.
Saturday 8th March 2008:
Rebecca and Taskeen went to Charlotte’s house to play in the afternoon. It was very windy when they played outside, but was lots of fun. Rebecca then got to go and play at Taskeen’s house and have tea with her. We went to bed very late 11 0 clock.
Sunday 9th March 2008:
I watched TV with Rebecca and played on the computer. We went shopping as Rebecca needed some new clothes and then went to visit Rebecca’s granny in Broughty Ferry.
Monday 10th March 2008: Rebecca went to school and I got to play. She had swimming after school which she took me to watch. It looked great fun although very tiring.

Patch’s Christmas trip to South-West France
The day after school finished for Christmas, Patch travelled through the fog and snow to Prestwick Airport to catch a flight to Girona in north Spain. A drive across the French border took him to the historic medieval town of Carcassonne.
After Carcassonne Patch travelled on to the city of Pau which is wonderfully located near the Pyrenees and also near the Atlantic coast and the beautiful seaside towns of Biarritz or St Jean de Luz. So he had the choice of a stroll on the beach or sledging in the mountains.
Patch stayed in a house with beautiful views of the mountains.
Patch found the sledging high up the mountain a bit cold, but he enjoyed the hot chocolate in the bar afterwards.
Another day Patch had a picnic in a mountain meadow in glorious sunshine
The south-west of France is famous for its ducks and not surprisingly they find their way onto the dinner table. For Christmas dinner Patch had a local specialty called “Canard Royale” which is a whole duck with all its bones removed stuffed full of foie gras. The is cooked at a high temperature for a short time so that the out-side is lovely and crispy, but the foie-gras remains firm inside. Patch even enjoyed a very small glass of local Jurancon wine to wash it down.
Unlike in Dundee the sun was shining and it was warm enough on Christmas day to sit outside and make a daisy chain!
