Sunday 3rd February 2008:

It’s my 9th birthday today and we both played with my new toys, we had lots of visitors who all loved Patch.
Patch just loved my Chocolate Birthday Cake, it was very yummy !!!!!!

Patch’s Christmas trip to South-West France

The day after school finished for Christmas, Patch travelled through the fog and snow to Prestwick Airport to catch a flight to Girona in north Spain. A drive across the French border took him to the historic medieval town of Carcassonne.

After Carcassonne Patch travelled on to the city of Pau which is wonderfully located near the Pyrenees and also near the Atlantic coast and the beautiful seaside towns of Biarritz or St Jean de Luz. So he had the choice of a stroll on the beach or sledging in the mountains.

Patch stayed in a house with beautiful views of the mountains.

Patch found the sledging high up the mountain a bit cold, but he enjoyed the hot chocolate in the bar afterwards.

Another day Patch had a picnic in a mountain meadow in glorious sunshine

The south-west of France is famous for its ducks and not surprisingly they find their way onto the dinner table. For Christmas dinner Patch had a local specialty called “Canard Royale” which is a whole duck with all its bones removed stuffed full of foie gras. The is cooked at a high temperature for a short time so that the out-side is lovely and crispy, but the foie-gras remains firm inside. Patch even enjoyed a very small glass of local Jurancon wine to wash it down.

Unlike in Dundee the sun was shining and it was warm enough on Christmas day to sit outside and make a daisy chain!

Patch and Cameron's Weekend

I had a very quiet week at Cameron’s because his mum was in hospital. I visited the hospital and I even visited the endoscopy room where Cameron’s dad works .I kept Cameron company and watched over him in the night. We listened to Charlie and the Great Glass elevator .I enjoyed the part when the vicious kinids attacked the Americans. In the morning Cameron’s little brother Callum was quite annoying because he woke us up from our lovely sleep.
I met lots of visitors this past week including Cameron’s nana and papa and aunty. I was well looked after and will be sad to return to school.

Patch’s Visit

At the weekend I took Patch home and Sophie came for a sleepover. When Sophie unpacked we played a game with my Egyptology book. Patch was the explorer and found other friends.
When it was teatime my brother Campbell got his soup and bread. Patch ate up his as fast as you could imagine. Then we went to bed. Sophie and I were very tired so we got to sleep quickly.
In the morning when I woke up Patch was awake, but Sophie was still asleep so I shoved and shoved Sophie until she finally said, “Stop doing that!” When Sophie went home I went to my Church party. It was great fun and I won lots of prizes.
I went home and Patch helped to decorate our Christmas tree. Patch go tired out in only one minute. He thought he would have a rest in my Christmas stocking! Patch slept there all night and before he knew it was time to go back to school
